Do you need help to support someone else?
The Panic Room SA offers FREE counselling to anyone in a caring role. A carer is someone who is providing care and support to a family member or friend who is frail and elderly, has dementia, a mental health issue, a disability, chronic illness or complex needs, or receives palliative care. A carer may also be classified as someone who has recently stopped providing care (ie, the person you care for has moved into residential care, or has passed away).
Carers are currently able to access 6 FREE sessions over a period of 5 months via The Panic Room SA. This is funded by the Carers SA National Carer Counsellor Program.
Counselling aims to help carer's to:
Deal with overwhelming and confusing feelings
Make sense of their experiences
Work out their own needs and solve problems
Manage conflict, stress and other emotional factors that make caring more difficult (this includes anxiety and depression)
Build resilience and cope with change
Improve their mental, emotional and physical wellbeing
If you or someone you know are in need of support to assist with a caring role, please get in touch with Kate directly on 0410 51 633, email firstname.lastname@example.org, or call Carers SA on 1800 242 636 and request a referral.
I am currently able to provide face to face counselling in Payneham or connect via Skype or phone.
